Topic: CTC Printer Software Options

I'm using MakerWare and ReplicatorG.  I can't get the same fine tuning I get in Repetier/Slic3r.  What is everyone else using?  I really miss brims.  I don't really want rafts.  There also seems to be a breakdown when trying to convert STL's to the MB format.  I get unpredictable results.  I've heard of GPX, but I can't figure out how the heck to configure it.  Any suggestions are appreciated.  Just looking for a workflow similar to what I get with Repetier/Slic3r.  Thanks.

Load sailfish and you can run  the host and slicer you are used to.

I swapped my motherboard out for one that uses ordinary gcode so it will work with all the common slicers and software.

Simplify3d does support your printer, it would be a flashforge creator or a makerbot creator. But that is also $150 bucks.

Any chance I'll brick it?  Just curious on your thoughts.  Not going to hold you responsible. wink

I had two Da Vinci's and flashed them with Repetier with no trouble.

So it is as simple as that?  If I go to Sailfish will it run Repetier and everything I've been using?

I tried Sailfish in mine and it still would only work with repg and makerbot. As I said I installed an Azteeg X5 and Viki LCD on mine. I also changed to MK10 extruders instead of MK9. They work better and are less prone to slipping since they are spring loaded.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

I got it installed, but now when it prints it goes to the back right corner of the plate.  So far, I cannot use Repetier.  It can't connect to the printer.  I've even turned off the background services in MB.

Help?

**UPDATE** I think a factory reset fixed the coordinates.  Now I just need to figure out how to use Repetier.
