Topic: Printer printing erratic

Downloaded a Apple stl file from thing inverse. Used tinker ad to group it to a coffee coaster. Downloaded the file to my printer. Printing was going fine when all of a sudden the stepper motors for the X an y started making unusual noises did a offset and continued printing but in a different position. Everything I print in now screwed up. Does anybody know what the cause is?

Re: Printer printing erratic

Tried to print again and while printing the X axis shifted while printing is it possible the driver is the root of the problem?

Re: Printer printing erratic

Which printer do you have?  Do the sample files still print ok?  Have you checked your belt tension?

Da Vinci 1.0a.  Repetier 0.92.  E3D V6.  Titan Extruder.  Sllic3r.  Octoprint on Raspberry Pi B+.

Re: Printer printing erratic

You may also have a break in the wiring harness (it does happen) and that can cause it to pulse strangely and jump position

Re: Printer printing erratic

Thanks for the replys. The same happens with the sample files. Rang out the wiring harness and stepper motor. Contacted xyz printing and was assigned a ticket. Now it's waiting to see what they do.
