I was having problems with the daVinci Pro not loading filament consistently. I would get clicking noises from the feeder and had to turn off the machine, clean the extruder and try again... I believe I've finally corrected the problem by cutting a really sharp angle in the ABS/PLA, much more than the 45 degrees suggested. I've now have a much easier filament load with no clicking. I hope this helps others with similar problems loading filament.

Secret! You don't have to use the load filament function on your pro. Just depress spring, and push filament all the way into the extruder, saves a lot of time and trouble...and yes a sharper angle will help guide through to extruder.

I was and still have an issue with this. Even on my pro I am not able to push the filament all the way to the extruder when swiping out filament. I am forced to loosen the nylon wire tie holding the extruder tube to the side as it enters the extruder. I need to have that tube upright for the filament to have a chance to make it all the way through.
My guess is something has come loose making me struggle with this process. This became an issue the second day I had the pro.

I still use the Load Filament function and only push the filament maybe half way to the extruder. Have you checked the tubing for any kinks or defects? I took a look at my tubing/extruder and it sits at an angle... Works fine now that I cut the filament to about a 60 degree angle. I printed out the 3DS V6 mounts and am going to move to it as soon as my stock extruder wears or starts giving me problems. Here's the YouTube and Thingiverse addresses & parts on Amazon:

The connector that holds the boden tube was at a severe angle entering the extruder, and had crimped the tube inside. To resolve, I removed the ties, and straightned it out, and installed at a less severe angle, and have had no more issues with that. I hope that XYZ is aware of this issue and will re-train the people who are installing it incorrectly.

I'll have to try that! My tube with all the pushing and twisting has some pinches and bends in it. Once the filament has reached the extruder it works fine, just getting it to it has been the issue.
Can I buy that tube online to replace the bent up one I have?
If I had to do that, I was just going to find a piece of tubing that will fit inside the assembly, and slide it over the original tube, thus preventing it from bending. Just a thought though. There is a hole on the top of the extruder assembly, close to the tube itself, so I just put a screw in there, and used twist ties to tie the tube against it, at a less severe angle, pulling it towards the back of the machine more and straighter up, but not so straight that it rubs against the top lid while printing. Don't know what the hole is for, but have had no issues.

This is exactly what was causing mine to feed incorrectly too.
What an aggravation. I took the molded plastic bracket off of the top of the extruder body, and it looks like they just decided against using the cutout that looks specifically intended for the bowden connector. The connector was pulled to one side, and zip tied to the frame. This caused the tube on the other end of the connector to bend and kink, which pinched the filament. Dumb design...
After fixing that issue, the clicking went away. However, during the next print, there wasn't enough pressure on the connector and tube because I didn't resecure the connector to the frame in the new orientation. This lead to the tube being pulled out of the extruder body from the y-axis movement, which eventually worked to pull the filament out too. I'll be refastening the connector when I get home. Hopefully all goes well!
Update:
After fixing the tubing and removing the kinks, I put the bowden connector back on and back into the bracket on top. That bracket is designed so that the thin part of the connector can snap into the side slot and be held firmly in place. I zip tied it back together, and the whole thing works great again!

What you guys are explaining is the same issue I have had. When ever I load new filament in on my Pro I remove the wire tie that is bending the feeder tub to the left and straighten it up. I then pull back the metal handle that allows me to feed the filament manually and feed it all the way down to the extruder. It takes a little work and I push the filament and wiggle the feeder tube. After a few tries it makes it past the point that it normally gets stuck and push past it. Then I select the load filament on the control panel and it works. After that I rescuer the wire tie and it works.
The feeder tub that goes into the feeder is getting worn out with all the tweaking. Is there a part number to order a new one?

The tube should be standard 4mm OD/2mm ID PTFE tubing. That's what mine appears to be. You can get that stuff pretty cheap online or probably at an aquarium store. It is rated to ~260c, so should work for all PLA/ABS prints. Won't work for higher temp filaments though, as it might melt and clog the extruder.
