Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

I was wondering if there was any way you could change the nozzle because i want to use filaments that require a plated nozzle and i was looking at the extruder but could not find anyway to take out the nozzle.

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

Hello all,

you will not be able to just copy data to ANY NTAG213.  The UID and password are related. You cannot set the UID of the NTAG213 therefore the printer will not respond to it with the correct password.

Currently working on cracking the algorithmic relationship between the UID and password, but until then, you will have to RESET existing tags and re-use them.

But martinez94199 removed the password from the data. Won't this work either?

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

I removed password from all my tags and gave program to martinez94199 , we able to clone NFC

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

you can disable the password on the tag. That will allow you to re-write the tag info without needing a password.

the issue here is that in order to do that, you had to sniff the password using a logic analyzer initially.

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

To make paper NFC you no need anymore analyzer, who do not want spend money on analyzer can make tags without it.

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

We finally did it, let's try to wrap all of this up into phone apps to be able to make the process easier.

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

Guys who do not have analyzer and want reset chip can PM me and I will show how to do this without sniffing password

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

If we can find an app which exports to xml, this will make the tag modification easier.  then all we need is a website which injects the correct values for color and temp and then export the xml to program a tag with.  The current ".tag" file is not as easy to manipulate, where as the xml is very easy to open in a text editor and modify.

Above is the card read from a tag made using the android app and the file provided earlier by martinez94199.  I was able to copy the tag, but it does not work on the printer.  I get a spool error when it reads it.  Even though the tag is no longer password protected there is nothing telling the printer it does not have to use the password, so its normal routine is to read the UID and then give the tag a password.  It does that no matter want is write protected.  The password fails because the printer has used an algorithm and the UID to create it and it does not match the default password, so the tag gives and error back to the machine and it gives a spool error.

I know martinez94199 and vienisas have made copies but copying the data does not actually get the card to work with the printer.  vienisas or martinez94199 can you show a video of the tag working with your printer.  Perhaps actually copying a card rather than using the file makes a difference, but I can verify using the app and file doesn't work on the printer.

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

greatone76 post a link to the tags which you used so we can try to figure out if not all the ntag213's work.

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

@stucktheman

Its the data that is the problem not the card.  Nothing tells the printer not to send a password.  Page 41 last byte is the start of the first page of protected data.  It is set to FF or 255.  the 255th page is the start of the protected data.  Any number after 44 effectively removes the password, but nothing actually removes the password from the card it is always there the only thing to set is what pages can't be read till it is entered.  The printer knows the card it wants is password protected so it sends out a password that the card will take as wrong and send an error.

588

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

For the record I just took an original tag.  Used the password.  Updated the page 41 last bite to 255 (removing the password protection)  Then copied to a blank tag directly using the original tag and again it failed in the printer.  Reading the card as you would expect the password is not copied, so the default password remains.

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

I also followed every step and I'm getting the spool error aswell..

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

Sorry to have to say this but, it looks like a hoax. In order to make a method like this work sounds like we'd need actual blank nfc chips that have either not been serialized or are changeable. Well my hopes were up. Now I'll continue waiting for the logic analyzer t show up.

Thanks.

Yeah me too.. It's really annoying because I'm not much of a software pro and never used a arduino or a logic analyzer before.. Is there anyone here who maybe has a tutorial or a step-to-step guide for resetting the original DaVinci JR chip for dummies? tongue
