Topic: what side is left?

facing same as camera and lasers are pointing or looking at them from turntable? because I wired lasers correct and marked them R/L but when looking same direction they are pointing the control turns on Right side laser when clicking left and visversa so the board must be configured Left looking from turntable towards camera. or is it based on direction laser is pointing towards? how will this effect scans?

Re: what side is left?

Looking from behind the camera toward the turntable, that's the left & right orientation.

If your lasers are backwards when you turn them on from the camera page, then you have either physically wired them backward, or reversed the pin assignment in the setup page.

Take a look at your setup page.  The right laser pin should be 4, the left should be 5.  If the values are correct, then you wired them backward to the logic board.

To print or, 3D print, that is the question...

Re: what side is left?

I just wired them how video said. he says Left is closest to end of board as he hooks up the far end wires. seems thats reversed. saw a few others with same issue posted. thanks for clearing it up the pin setings where reversed from factory, I set them as you stated and saved. works now

Did you use the SD card that came with your Atlas or did you install your own pi/Raspbian software?

Re: what side is left?

I'm pretty sure all SD cards being shipped with the Atlas are imaged or copied from a common source, so I don't see how the pins could have been reversed only on your image.

Nevertheless, you might want to send a note to Elmoret or Uriah (depending on where you bought your Atlas), ad let them know of this discrepancy so they can check their source.
