Topic: Lost just f ing lost

Sorry i just got my scanner put it together and ya i am lost
I cant get anything i own desktop orlaptops to see the wifi
I hooked up the eathrnet i can conect via laptop only but ok it is conected now what how do i open freelss like the pictures show??
I said ok hooked up via hdmi i can log in and then thats it
Help i am a grunt literaly i am lost just like totaly lost

after login type "startx" to start the GUI.  then you can find the WIFI setup and get the IP address.  Once you have the IP address you can login from another computer web browser and start using the scanner.

I think there is too much assumption in the instructions that the buyer has used a raspberry pi before.

I also had no idea what to do after logging in until I read that you started the desktop interface with the startx command.  I never touched a Pi board before now myself.

The solution is so obvious now that I know the answer!  roll

same for where the scans are being stored: /var/bin/freelss/scans

Same here, i had never even seen a raspberry pi before i got the atlas and i tried connecting via wifi but was confused as to where the GUI was - so i just connected using ethernet cable to my router in the end. I will have to try the startx command next time i use the atlas - thanks for the info big_smile

so what does yours do when powered up? how long does it take to light Pi? and does motor squel soon as powered up? mine dont light anything but moter whines as if being operated and still not locked from turning like its off. I too am Pi dumb. folloowde assembly video exactly but using Pi B which has different mount and ribbon than Pi2

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

My pi lights up straight away. no motor on startup, just when i scan as it should be. Mine is a Pi 2
