Re: parts extruder help

Extruder tips for a DaVinci 1.0? I'm not sure you can buy them after market.
I had to buy spare parts directly from XYZpriniting for my 1.0 PRO.

Re: parts extruder help

Not sure what you mean by "the cable connection" ??
I have a Davinci 1.0 and the E3D works fine with repetier, no configuration required.
I also use simplify3d with no problems.

for connecting the cable is to be welded on the motherboard of DaVinci.

Re: parts extruder help

You don't need to connect anything to the motherboard.
You can use the stock thermistor and heater cartridge so no wiring required.
I used the E3D thermistor and just spliced the cable to the stock wires and used the stock heater.

http://e3d-online.com/Lite6
There's a guide to installation on the site.
The Lite is cheaper than the standard E3D but it's limited to 240C.
I can post a pic of my setup later.

It's up to you but the bowden version will require a different setup.
The direct drive version is the one described in the youtube video and is easier to install.

Re: parts extruder help

Your in the EU? You can buy a new extruder from Da Vinci for about 70 EUR. Or contact them directly to see who your local supplier are. They told me that where I purchased it from should sell them but when I replied they didn't. They game me the UK reseller that does. So you can order parts its just question as to if you have to have the whole thing. I imagine theyll sell you a heater block though.

Re: parts extruder help

The E3D's come with a fan and duct.
The stock fan is too big and won't fit.

Re: parts extruder help

Yeah, PLA will be fine for that.
I made a similar one with PLA. It helps a lot with small prints.

Re: parts extruder help

I guess you could tap into 12v on the board but I just use an external 12v supply.
That way I can turn it on/off manually.
You need to have the fan all the time when printing or you run the risk of a jam.
I only turn the fan off while the extruder is getting up to temp to save time then switch it on as soon as the print starts.
