Topic: da Vinci Junior 1 vs sd2

So I have a sd2 that I am having trouble with and am considering selling it and getting a XYZprinting da Vinci Junior 1 3D Printer. Does anyone have any experience using both printers? Pros and cons that sort of thing. The only main difference that I can see is that the da Vinci Junior 1 only uses pla and the sd2 can use both.

Re: da Vinci Junior 1 vs sd2

the davinci uses proprietary filament cartridges - you are limited in filament choices - unless you are willing to hack it and void any warranty...

if you are wanting a davinci, i would recommend the new Pro - at least then you can use whatever filament you want to (or so they claim)

SD4 #1 & #2 - Lawsy carriages, E3D v6, Rumba controller board, mirror bed plate, X motor fan, upgraded PSU & Mica bed heater
SD4 #3 - in the works ~ Folgertech FT-5, rev 1
Printit Industries Beta Tester - Horizon H1

The filament thing is a draw back. But not that big of one for me as I dont print in many different colors anyway. I honestly expect someone to hack the rf chip so that a "clone" cartridges can be made.
