Cant print anything from new printer (Page 1 of 2)

I did mention to XYZ that it makes the tock sound every couple of seconds or so when printing and they said this.

dont know if peoples experiences with these printers if this is true or not, but they have never mentioned the tension on the filament

Yes, the clicking sound can be from having the bed too high.
Try lowering it slightly, a quarter turn to the right on all thumb screws.

its interesting the first couple of layers print ok just further ones dont

Could also be heat creep in the hot end if the fan blowing there is not working.

In addition, I believe the Pro is a bowden setup for the extruder, so make sure your filament path is unobstructed and smooth.

Also make sure your filament cartridge is feeding smoothly by itself. I always check this as I sometimes left the rubber stopper in and other times, especially with a new one, I had twisted filament inside the cartridge.

When using the load function, it should extrude fairly quickly.
Much quicker than when printing, something like 2 or 3cm per second.

well this is interesting...
I upped the temp to 230 for the ABS and made sure its def feeding ok and the extruder is clean
calibrated the bed and checked the Z axis with a business card.

and its come out ok with a layer height of 0.3. im sure i can get a better result but its a start considering i was getting crap

I tend to level by sight these days.
Start a print and watch the first layer like a hawk.
If doesn't look "squished" enough or it lifts from the bed, turn the screw at that part of the bed a quarter to the left to raise the bed slightly.
Then repeat till you get it right all the way round the first layer.
Once you've got it dialed in, you shouldn't have to touch it again unless you put a fair bit of pressure on the bed.

Takes a bit of practice but after a while you'll get to know how the first layer should look and you won't need the paper method.

this is the best i get manage to get from this printer at he mo.
wish i knew what im doing wrong or if its an issue with the printer

this is BQ PLA which it recommend between 200 and 220.
im running these and 215
