Yes that's it. Everything is describe in detail in post above by crcasey and other member.

Do you use the saleae software with that analyzer?

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

I have Saleae analyzer 4 and using them software. When you start program need select I2C analyzer and in I2C settings select Hex. Connect ground to pin 2, channel 0  to pin 5 and channel 1 to pin 6. Select record 10 sec. press Star and turn on printer. Its all.

Maybe there is an other way, there is an optical count device on the bowden extruder.

I dont know if it's a good way, but maybe.

I have seen that. I tried to disconnect the connector from the optical sensor board but it still subtracted from the chip. Your best bet right now is to buy a cheap logic analyzer and an nfc shield and an arduino if you don't already have one.

That is a jam and filament out detector. If there is a jam and the feed stops the wheel will stop turning and no longer generate a pulse. If the filament runs out the same will happen.

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

Just a little note to anyone wondering. I've been using MakerBot PLA just fine after I ordered two spools with the printer not realizing about the DRM. Prints have been coming out excellent. I am using the preset 210C from the chip in the White XYZPrinting spool. I tried it with 190C from the Nature chip that came with the printer and is not getting hot enough to melt the filament. There is a workaround to this by decrypting the 3w file and changing the temperature in the gcode but that is quite annoying to have to do every time you print.

Temp will change for every roll and every batch. you just got lucky and found a roll and temp on chip combo that works for now...

Temps from roll to roll can vary as much as 30 degrees. But if you have a 190 chip and a 210 chip you got most of the range covered..

The Natural roll that comes with the printer is 190C, so everyone should have this. I also purchased a white spool which is 210C, which hopefully is complient with most spools. I can always just change the temp in the gcode if worse comes to worse.

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

I wonder if this can print ABS. I've seen the Fabrikator Mini print ABS perfectly fine so why cant the jr? I'll have to test out if the extruder can get up to 230C which is the temp cura recommends. If so, I'd be happy to pick some up and test it out.

I don't know if the Jr. has a Teflon insert in the feed tube and hot end but if it does then 230 is dangerous. Teflon out gases at that temp and higher and that gas can cause flue like symptoms. So be careful and consider ventilation.. The printers that can do higher temps don't have the Teflon insert..

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

How would I find this? I'm pretty sure it doesn't. I opened up the extruder and its just the bowden tube feeding into what looks to be a plastic filament guide then into the hot end.

Re: DaVinci Junior cartridge reset

Extruder heating to 230 C but no more, I tried to print with XYZ ABS its melting, but do not want stick to a bed and print is looks bad, I think need 250C

This happens when you dont have a heated bed, you can fix it by putting glue stick down onto the print bed before printing

Do you mean that the colour controls the temperature?

Also mine always heats up to 205.  Can the temp actually be controlled with the advanced mode and how is everybody monitoring the temperature?

In the print mode press OK and select MONITOR MODE. Temperature can be change in advance mode before slicing

Mine says cancel where yours says monitor. Firmware version maybe?  I will try upgrading.
