Topic: Best way to remove a finished project from the print bed?

I recently got my printer. At first it didn't print correctly, so I put some glue on top of the grip tape sheet (or whatever it is called). I did this because the guy in the CNET review said that it fixed his printing problem. After that it printed just fine and my project turned out great. My first project was removed rather easily. I put glue on the tape bed again for the secound project. When I tried to remove it with the included spatula, I had no luck. I ended up completely destoying the tape before I got it off. There must be a better way to get my finished projects off.

As hard as it is to wait, when the bed is cooled to room temp, they just click off.

The secound project was actually 5+ hours. I had assumed the lower portion was coooled off enough by the time it had ended. If need be, I will wait some additional time after the project is fully finished. Thanks for the advice.

The object stays hot as long as it is printing.. The best policy is to wait till the bed is back at room temp if it is heated. Watch your display or software for the temp. Or wait at least an hour after it stops printing. On a Da Vinci the glass that is used is not that great and if you try to force and object off while still worm it can actually break the surface of the glass off with your objects leaving little indentations on your glass that will be bumps on your next print..

3D printing requires more patience than waiting for Christmas. Rushing Christmas won't break things. Rushing in printing WILL break things. Consider yourself warned..

I let the bed cool to about 40°C.
I use a paint scraper to gently prize the base of the print from the bed. Most prints come away with little effort.
If the print still won't come off, gently tap the scraper at the base of the print with a small hammer.

on my Replicator 2X which has an aluminum heated bed with Kapton tape ( also use purple glue stick) when printing ABS.
I use the following 2 items to get the prints off the bed.

Plexi-glass gutter to get under the edge.

and an icing spatchula to separate the print  from the kapton tape.

They work great!
BUT if you pry to hard and move the bed on the springs you will have to re level it because even though it is spring loaded
it will not come back to the same place.

I you print on a sheet on removable glass, retrieve the glass and stick it in the freezer. You should hear a pop 2 minutes later and you are good to go.

I use hairspray on a glass mirror that fits my bed held down with hairspray. Any glass will work though. Mirrors just look nice. Put a light coat on the print side the first time. While printing the part it will stick like it was part of the glass. Once it cools you will actually hear it pop loose and lifts off with effort.
