Topic: Silver Guide Tube Fitting Part #? for Junior?

myself and a few others have been waiting a week for tech support to tell us what the part # is for the silver guide tube fitting. I ordered some from Amazon, but they were the wrong size...does anyone know the size/part #???

I just ordered http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013Z3 … ge_o00_s00
I'm told these will work with my DaVinci Pro.
They're not silver plated like the original equipment, but they may fit a Junior.

I think those are the ones I tried and the threads were a little too big for the Jr

the thread is 4 mm , so I might just drill the hole out to make it a 5 mm and be done with all the XYZ "tech support" nonsense....I don't understand why they keep asking for a copy of my receipt just to tell me what the part # is. I even told them I'm not asking for THEM to send me a replacement, I just need the specs...ughhhhhhhhhhhh! I think I saw someone had a funnel section on Thingiverse, maybe there's a 5mm conversion piece that already exists

They want a copy of your receipt because their policy is to support printers that where bought from authorized dealers. Ebay and Amazon are not authorized. They also want to see how old it is. XYZ has one of the worse warranties I have ever seen. They don't sell parts except what is listed on the store. If you need anything else they require you to ship the entire printer to Taiwan at your cost.

I don't mind giving them the receipt (cough, if I can find it) if I have something I'm asking them to repair, but all I'm asking for is a part # so I can order one on my own

They won't even do that unless you can provide proof of legitimate purchase meaning a store they call authorized.

The issue is the market over there simply replaces a machine if it is bad. They do not do their own repairs but instead simply replace a defective machine. As such XYZ does not stock or expect to have to sell extra parts. They expect you to ship the machine back and they will repair or replace it with another machine that was previously repaired.

That is just their business model and expectations in that region. I am not defending them, just have worked with other companies in that region and they all have the same thoughts.

Seems they all expect the same mentality from the rest of the world and are surprised and caught off guard when some one wants to fix it themselves.

Re: Silver Guide Tube Fitting Part #? for Junior?

I finally broke down and gave them my receipt...I'd still like to know the part # so I can buy several backups (I'm sure I'll run into this again in the future). If I could find a printable extruder funnel (in case I screw the original up), I'd go and and convert it from a 4 mm thread to a more common 5 mm. I saw someone had printed one, so hopefully, he'll post the file.
