Topic: Da Vinci AiO Extruder is not heating.

I got error code 0011 yesterday while trying to start a print, and noticed that the extruder is not heating up for some reason.   At a quick look, I don't see anything that looks out of the ordinary, like a broken wire or anything like that.  What's weird though is that after just sitting a few minutes, it started working again, so I assumed that maybe it was an overheating issue, and decided to just leave it turned off overnight and try again today.  Now it's failing to heat up again, and I'm not sure what to do.


Edit:  Okay, this is weird.... literally all I did was just wiggle the wires a bit, and it's working again now.  Going to leave this topic here for future suggestions/instructions in case it stops working again.

I had a similar problem recently after a short caused by a piece of bare wire touching a metal part of the extruder.
The short damaged one of the thermistor wires in several places all the way back to the main board.
I replaced the whole wire and all is well again.
Not sure what code 0011 is but I got either the def error or my extruder temp on the lcd was showing 3°C at room temp.

Error code 11 is extruder one heating problem.
the manual sais check connections and reboot.

this can be a few things. your connection on your carriage that connects the heater cart to the wiring harness may be loos (this is a common issue on some printers many of us have replaced that connecter with better ones. or you can solder the connections directly (pain if you need to disconnect it but way more reliable)

Can be a damaged thermistor or you could have blown one of the zero ohm resister "fuses" on the main board.

So first is to check all you connecters are in good and snug.

if they are all in good and snug next would be to check the wiring for opens/shorts

last would be to measure the 0 ohm resisters to make sure they are not blown. there is a thread on here showing what ones to check with pictures. if you need I can try and find it
