Topic: Wi-Fi sees networks but won't connect

Following the start up directions. Put the USB drive in I get two files where I see that the networks it can see and I put the network name and password in.   Save it and put the drive back in and get the message:

Error: Error obtaining IP address for wlan0. The password may be incorrect.

The dongle seems to be working since it can see networks, but I've tried three different networks and it won't connect.

I saw two other threads about wi-fi, but they didn't seem to be this issue.

I have a recent vintage kit with a RasPi2 B.

Hello

I beieve we have the same issue.
I had a previous version or something on my sd card. Once elmoret showed me how to update/reflash it the pi worked perfect.

If you look at the the posts of my thread (past post 14 or so) you will see a similar problem...

Today I will try with the new wifi dongle i borrowed and post my findings, however I agree a defective dongle might not detect my wifi (in the above case JACKY)
