Topic: DaVinci 1.0A Downgrading Firmware from 1.0.6 to 1.0.3

Hello,

I'm trying to downgrade my printer to 1.0.3 firmware, so i can use cartidge resetting code to change bed and extruder temperatures.

For some reason, when i click "Upgrade Firmware" on firewall blocked XYZware, no window pops up to manually pick firmare for the printer.

Has anyone tried that on a 1.0A?

That method does not work on the 1.0A

You can switch to repetier.  My 1.0a had 1.0.6 and it made the printer absolutely useless with anything but xyzware, they put something the firmware which screws with the machine settings(i think it was the esteps).

I switched to repetier a few weeks back and once i got it tuned in i realized how stupid i was for not doing it in the first place.

I don't believe you can downgrade with 1.0A machine.  Either stay where you're at or go Repetier.

If I switch to repetier, there is no going back , right? I'm seriously considering that, but afraid that I'll brick the printer.

Flashing Repetier is pretty simple.  And you're right, there is no going back.

It's worth it.

Did your printer have the new board with the serial starting with 3F10A? I thinking about flashing too..
