Topic: Some issues fro a newbie

Hi,

I'm italian I'm sorry for my english

I start assembling the mechanical part and i have some issues:

1) I set the distance at 84.5 mm and I have this situation.
Is it correct?

2) Isn't here a set screw to fix the hex socket to the motor axis?

3) It seems that the M3x35 screws are short to fix the stall protection board

Thanks for any help

Hi there,

I have also replied to your email already, lets try to keep conversation in one place.

1.) Yes, that is fine as long as the hex socket connecting the motor to the feed screw/auger has about 2mm of play with the thrust bearing compressed.

2.) No, no set screw goes there.

3.) You need to use the brass standoffs included with the stall protection board in between the gearmotor and stall protection board. Please check the photo on page 6 of the instructions.

Thanks Tim,

1.) So it is normal that the cage and the 2 races moves freely?
If you watch my first picture there are 10 mm between the fixed black collar
and the alluminium chassis. There the cage and the 2 races moves freely.

2.) Ok

3.) You right I haven't seen

1.) Yes, it is normal, it is described in the instructions. If you have assembled correctly and push the auger into the barrel, it will compress the thrust bearing. The auger only experiences load in one direction from the pressurized plastic, not back and forth.
