Topic: Using slic3r with Da Vinci Jr.?
Has anyone been able to use slic3r with the Da Vinci Jr.? I have seen discussions of using slic3r with other XYZ printers but I do not know what the parameters are for the Jr.
I am new to 3d printing and have never used any other printer.
I have not had any trouble at all printing objects so far, but I wish that I had a bit more control over the prints: in particular, I wish that I could print objects with a solid base. As far as I can understand, what I want is to be able to specify the top and bottom shells, as it seems like the XYZ slicer always assumes that there is no bottom shell. As it is, everything I print has only one layer on the bottom. This means that when I print an object with a .1 layer thickness, the layer gets left on the platform and the bottom of the object is open so that you can see the cells within.
I'd probably be satisfied if I knew how to edit the .3w files to change the parameters that would let me control the bottom shell of the print.
I attach (or at least try to) a photo of one of the objects I have printed.
