Try it and let us know. I doubt anyone has. They simply reinforce the bed with 3mm glass. Its cheap and easy to cut or have cut.

Yes, the PRO bed and the 1.0 Bed are the same. I suggest you DO NOT do that however; I hate my aluminum bed on my PRO. Glass is so much better for getting ABS to stick to it.
I changed my bed to Aluminum about 5 months ago and have done ~20 prints since then. I had a little trouble with the plastic not sticking at first. I eventually made sure I had enough glue on the bed and I've not had any problems since. I ordered my bed from online metals (7075-T6, .125" thick, Cut to: 8.125" x 8.125"). I don't believe the aluminum is better other than it won't chip. If you do try an aluminum bed and don't like it just keep your stock glass and heater intact so you can swap back.
The only problem with an aluminum bed is that if for some reason your Z is set wrong or gets messed up and the nozzle hits it could damage the nozzle, and as you know the nozzle on Da Vinci printer is part of the entire hotend and requires the entire hotend to be replaced.
