If it's a Sangunololu board you need to get those files into the hardware folder of Arduino.  You can pull them from Arduino 022 or just use version 022.  Then you will select Sanguino from that drop down menu.

The board uses an ATMEGA1284P chip, on selection in arduino do i select 16Mhz or 8Mhz. been searching these setup information, can't find this answer. Tnx

I chose 8Mhz, verify/compile got error compiling.

Try the 16, I don't have the answer.  On mine I only have the Sanguino option.
It won't hurt to try the others.  Also make sure in the configuration.h you have the correct board number selected.
