SoliForum - 3D Printing Community → XYZ Printing DaVinci → Da Vinci 1.1 Plus Flashing Question
I am in the process of getting a da Vinci 1.1 Plus. One quick question that a quick Google search did not cover -- Am I able to flash this to Repetier? I refuse to use stock software after the first roll of filament runs out. Thank you!
I would like to add that the way I am purchasing a printer, it is cheaper to get a 1.1 Plus vs the 1.0 or any other model. The Junior would simply be too small for my uses.
I don't believe the 1.1 plus is currently flashable but I could be wrong? Luc or anyone else know?

If all your worried about is filament, and you hate xyzware (like everyone does) Then you still have decent options.
Get yourself a cart resetter (Or cart eliminator) and then you can use any filament you want. Second purchase Simplify3D software and dump xyzware completely. Now you have the control you need and the freedom of filaments....
Would I be better with getting a card resetter? I know there was one on eBay for $30.
If it is compatiable , I would try the XYZ Zero Cart. It is a device that you can, via bluetooth, transmit your "cart info" (length setting and temp) to your printer. It worked pretty well on my 1.0A. edit: I was just looking at the site below and it appears that the temp settings no longer work on some version of firmware but the length setting does:
"Please note that from firmwares 1.0.5 (Dav 1.0a), 1.2.5 (Dav 1.0), 1.1.5 (AiO) and 2.0 (Dav 2.0a) the printer does no longer read the temperatures from the cartridge (so it can't be changed anymore). Resetting the filament length work fine. Check the product feedback on this site from other users and the voltivo.com forums for more information. Look at firmware downgrading options on the various forums online before purchasing a resetter."
Unfortunately I don't see any info on this with the 1.1 Plus.

I would also agree that a cart resetter would be a good option and would be cheaper.
I would personally recommend Simplify3D if you can afford it.
Should I look into a different printer? Or would the Da Vinci be a good one to start with?
If anything just get the new Pro version. Then you wouldn't need to flash or use the resetter tool.
$700 is a bit steep.. I think I'll go with a MakerFarm Pegasus.

Had mine for while today refuses to recognize any xyz cartridges. Simply doesn't see as there's anything.
Not as unrecognized non of that . Just as u would not even put one in.
Grrrrr love xyz printers but damn little things like that makes me hate them.
Anyon . Found any aftermarket firmware yet?
I just updated the firmware yesterday and i have exactly the same problem... Was working fine on the old firmware now not recognising the cartridge at all.
Had the printer less than a week and they have made it unusable.
Need repetier support asap. Got my 2.0 working great with it.
so will there be hack for this thing ?
so done with it ready to rip it apart and drop ramps in it. :-/
I know this is a necro-post/ attempt to flog a dead horse (?) but did anyone keep a copy of the firmware for the 1.1 Plus - or does anyone know the address (xyzprod.blob.core.windows.net/firmware/???3F11X???.bin) to direct download from the website?
