Topic: Is XYZ run by a raging band of morons or what??

I can't believe it.  I asked them if I could PAY for a replacement part.  I got my printer used so I don't have a receipt and I'm not the original owner of it.  I just want to buy a part to fix it.  This is what I get back.  No wonder they have the reputation as being the worst company with the worst products.  Wow.. Just wow...

Yep that XYZ for you. But if the part is any part of the printing system then it can be replaced by common parts form ebay or other 3d part vendors. The only parts you would need form XYZ would be parts of the enclosure.

Sign up to xyz with another email. Then reg the printer and try again.

I had to ask 4 times to get the part I needed. Just keep opening new posts with them.
If they ask for a proof of purchase tell them it was a present or something like that.

What parts you after?

Thanks.  Good idea.  I have the X-Axis problem where it's losing steps.  I was asking them if I could buy a new wiring harness.
This is like Ford telling me I can't buy a new fuel pump.  It's insane.

I just bit the bullet and bought the parts to make a harness from Mouser when one of my opto sensor harnesses went bad.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

I'm starting to think they are a bunch of canned comment morons.
I have the DaVinci 1.0 Pro. the one that lets you print with 3rd party filaments. right...
XYZware when I go to print multiple small parts in one batch says I don't have enough filament.
I have a brand new 1.75mm 1KG roll of Hatchbox PLA installed.

I can't print anything that has multiple parts in the same print job.

First response I got from XYZprinting support.
"Please make sure the cartridge is inserted properly and the pin on the cartridge is not dirty or damaged and well connected to the pin on the printer. Kindly try to wiggle also the cartridge to see if it helps. "

In my experience, I have come to believe that most initial replies are canned ones sent by Chinese women ("Valerie") that can barely understand English.

If possible, try to use Simplify3D if it supports the latest Davinci, it does not have the annoyances of the XYZ software. Best investment I have done for my printer.

Simplify3D does not currently support Davinci 1.0 Pro. I purchased it on a suggestion from a friend it wouldn't even recognize the printer. I've talked to their support dept. they are working on it but couldn't give an ETA. so they refunded me the purchase price.

So in the meantime I've been using Slic3r modifying the Gcode so the printer will recognize the file and print. It still has a few problems on top of saying I'm out of filament.

It's a work in progress.

When printing with non-XYZ filament, you *have* to take the xyz cart out of the printer.  If it is left in there, the printer will think your actually using it and not your other filament.  It will read the chip on the cart and that keeps the length, so that's why your getting the error. 

I have verified that if you remove the cart and load filament, the printer will default to user settings and allow you to set bed and temp and ignore the length, works like a champ!

Cartridge is out of the printer. been through that with tech support.
I have a chess set that I'm trying to print, I get the message after about the third round of printing.
I found a work around.
Close XYZware, turn printer off count to 10, give the printer the bird finger, and power it back on.
after that I can print the next few rounds of objects.
