Topic: Davinci Jr and 6" heated bed

I just got a Jr. for my son. It occurs to me that a small heated bed(like this one from ebay:http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-X-6-Heatbed-PCB-Heated-Bed-for-3D-Printing-/251131700535?hash=item3a789da537:m:mBby8Wr4lsr5b5iLXlxStww) should fit. Then, I should just be able to adjust the offset, correct?

Has anyone else tried this yet?

Re: Davinci Jr and 6" heated bed

At this current time you can only use the PLA that the machine is made for. They use an RFID system for the filament that has not been cracked yet. So installing a heated a bed that has no method of control other than external is pretty much useless at this time for this printer. You don not need a heated bed for PLA.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: Davinci Jr and 6" heated bed

I am having trouble with parts warping in the jr. While a heated bed is not strictly necessary,  after solving the issue on my i3 with a heated bed,  I'm inclined to think it would be a worthwhile upgrade.
I'll report back on my findings.
