Topic: Filawinder Set Up- Motor Problems

I just started to set up my Filawinder and I thought everything was okay. Calibrating the servo went ok but the motor will not turn. When I try to run the motor in manual mode the motor starts to hum in the middle of the potentiometer. At the upper and lower ends nothing happens: the motor does not turn and does not make a sound. Does anybody know what could be causing this?

Re: Filawinder Set Up- Motor Problems

The easiest thing to try is backing off the mounting screws slightly.  If you really tighten them down, it is possible for them to bend the face of the motor slightly and interfere with the gears.  Otherwise it could be a problem with the motor or the board.  Try plugging the motor into the unused pair of headers on the bottom left of the board.  That is always-on 12v fed directly by the power supply.  If the motor turns, then the problem is probably with the MOSFET on the board.
