XYZ doesn't left me print when there's isn't enough ABS. So let say a job requires 50.36M and I only have 40.15M it will deny me and forcing me to use a new cartridge because I don't have enough ABS to complete the job.
I now have two leftover cartridges each have about 15M left of ABS. Is there a way to hack the machine to use up the remaining of the ABS, and how may I swap cartridge in between a job without quitting a job?
Ok, couple things here....
First you have two options when faced with the 'end of spool dilemma' You can either get a cart resetter or the wctek cart emulator. I have the emulator, it goes in the printer in the cart bay and is able to always tell your printer that you have a max cart with 240m of filament ready to go; that way you can use whatever filament you want and use up those carts to the last inch. I do not like the resetter as it can cause the chip to fail if programmed wrong.
Now I have successfully swapped carts during a print. On the control panel during a print yu have the option to pause the print. I was almost out of filament but had another spool ready to go. So I paused, Manually unloaded the filament, and loaded the new one. Since I could not use the load procedure during a pause, I had to hold the tab open while I gently pushed the filament in until it just started to come out the tip. I then un-paused and away it went, worked perfectly....
