Topic: Serial Connection to the DaVinci motherboard?

My original Davinci board is no longer showing up via USB.  I've already ordered a RAMPS kit in case I can't revive this board, but like all good hardware hackers, I'd like to do my best to revive it.  Without USB, I'm assuming I'll need to use a programmer.   Has anybody found a way to solder on a serial port connector **onto the MB to attempt to unbrick the system?

Any other suggestions on reviving a bricked MB?   The existing board does start up, and make it's happy powered up beeps, so it has some life, and I wouldn't be surprised if it would be happy again if I could re-flash Repetier onto it.  I've got programmers, I just need to figure out where the TX/RX pins** are.

** Whatever direct wired connection is needed, JTAG, serial or any other standard hookup.  I'm using "serial" and "rx/tx" as blanket terms here.

Re: Serial Connection to the DaVinci motherboard?

It is done through JTAG using the that large header port that is not populated if you are not using USB. However if USB is dead then your done for as there is no other way to print without removing the SDcard and putting files on it.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

No show on USB but have a beep at startup ? is screen working ? may not be the USB itself
the programming port is here - I use it to connect ESP module on my 2.0:

Your 2nd question intrigues me.  Actually these issues started when the screen went dead.  Is there a known relationship here that might tell me something?

if some fuse are blow up because of short happened - screen looks dead, as well as extruder and even USB sometimes.
Check the resistor fuses, they could lead you to the problem, this is just a possibility.
