Hey all,
The extruder or feeder on my 1.0 has been making some weird noises lately. It seems to be the loudest on slow or fine resolution prints. Printing normal speed at .3-.4mm it doesnt seem to make the noise. With or without the noise, I do not see any indication its affecting the print, its just a worrying noise.

I had that same noise when printing with my aio it was the filament not being aligned with the hot end 100%. it can lead to filament grinding and blockage. if you have not modified your printer You may just need to tighten some of the nuts and bolts back up. This was most noticeable when printing flexible filament
That is why I decided to print a new carriage and extruder (I have swapped to a e3d).

Thank you for your response. I believe you are correct, it does sound like the filament is sticking or grinding a bit on slower speeds. It is probably time for an extruder cleaning anyway.
How difficult was it to upgrade to the E3d extruder? Are the results worth it? I've had my 1.0 for just over a year now, outside of the cartridge resetter, everything is stock.
I like the e3d a lot and think the conversion was well worth it.
its not to hard to do as long as you print the parts first
