Topic: auger overhang looks wrong

Version 2.0 filastruder
Test fitting the pieces. Collar installed on auger bit at 84.5 mm as per instructions. Thrust bearings installed, auger inserted in external pipe. spacer washers and mount plate resting on washers and pipe collar resting on mount plate. As you can see from the pictures, i've got almost 20mm extending from the end of the barrel, whereas the instructions suggest it should be about 5mm.
Am I doing something wrong? Was i sent the wrong auger?

I'm concerned that if I add another 15 mm to the collar so I get the right amount of overhang, then I'll end up with insufficient clearance for the hex socket and motor assembly.

Re: auger overhang looks wrong

Right auger, there's just a stackup of tolerances between the box/auger/barrel/flange/etc that can result in this. As noted in the instructions, the right move is to contact support at the email address listed.

Anyway, you can just move the shaft collar to 90mm and put a set of laser cut spacers between the motor and chassis - off you go.

Re: auger overhang looks wrong

Mine looks exactly the same, and when assembled without the spacers there is nowhere near enough clearance for the thrust bearing to work when the motor is flush with the casing. Put the spacers between the motor and it was almost perfect, just a bit to much play in the coupling (I know it should be a little loose). I actually assumed that this was the purpose of all the extra spacers, so I'm a bit relieved to see this is the proper solution.
