Topic: printer disconnected

Yep another newbie question. I did a search and found a few things that I have tried but to no avail. Just set up the printer (1.0aio) had a issue with the belt being off a tooth code31 and I managed to solve that bit. But now when I open xyzscan it says printer disconnected. It is connected I do get an audible alarm when I plug the USB into my laptop. I'm running xp and it was recently updated.The printer shows up in my device manager as XYZprintingCameraR under devices, not printers. I live off the grid and only have internet through my phone so updating firmware or drivers from a site is difficult but possible if that's what I need to do. Just not sure where to go. And of course support is terrible.Everyone here has been far more help. Would updating to windows 10 do anything? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

When I first bought my printer I was using Windows 7 and I couldn't get xyzscan to work so I ran it on my other computer with Windows 8 and it worked. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the drivers.

If you have a powered hub try plugging that into the laptop and then the printer into the hub. It must be a powered up. I had a similar issue and the hub solved it.
