Topic: Quick question about SD card on Da Vinci 1.0a

Well I finally got my printer back from XYZ after it kinda blewup. Although it took over a month to sort out, they were good about it all even though it was clearly flashed. They replaced the power supply and one of the stepper motors under warranty. I was lucky I guess.

Now I have it all set up, I still have the same issues I had before with the blobbing, uneven lines, horrid print quality etc.

Out of morbid curiosity I was looking at the SD section on repeteir. I uploaded the gcode to the SD card that I was failing at printing.
It printed out near flawlessly without any of the major issues I was having.

Is there something different about printing from SD than with the programs? Curious why I could get it done better via S than anything else I had tried.

Cheers guys

You could be having a bad USB connection.  Either way you should always print from the memory card directly.

I usually print from USB without issue but not sure why it would make any difference.

Re: Quick question about SD card on Da Vinci 1.0a

On a Da Vinci you never print live over USB as long as you are using a stock motherboard. The file is sent to the SDcard and stored as a file called Offline_print.gcode. That is why you can unplug the computer or shut the computer down and the print will continue.

So then just so understand what the OP is doing here, he prints through a program and it prints bad. But if he uses same program but puts on memory card then prints through the LCD on the printer from the card then it prints well. Do I understand the issue correctly OP?

Then that would indicated an issue with the file being transfered to the card by the software as offlineprint.gcode versus OP manually sending the file to the memory card as filename.gcode and printing from the LCD. Yet both files went through same slicer.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
