Topic: Some trick to recover connection with Repetier after manual leveling?

To do a manual leveling according to the easy method by carl sticked in this forum I have to start a print and then off the printer.

As when you order a test print from the display panel of Da Vinci with Repetier firm (not Repetier-host) the heating doesn't occur and so the leveling is not valid, I need to use the computer and to order a print from Repetier-host. Ok, I do it and when printing is initiating I stop it by putting off the printer (interrupting its energy) or by an emergency stop from Repetier. In both cases the only way I find to reconnect the printer to the Repetier-host is by restarting the computer (first putting on the printer and then the restart).

Is there some way to reconnect to Repetier-host avoiding the uncomfortable restarting?

That method is only necessary on the stock XYZ firmware.  Why don't you just use the manual bed leveling feature in the menu now that you have Repetier firmware installed?  You should really go through the entire menu and see what options are available to you.

Yes, I tried the manual leveling on the Repetier firmware, but... it isn't so simple and quick to that explained by carl. In the Repetier protocol you have to check more tnan 3 points and tweak sometimes two screws to adjust only one point. I appreciate your suggestion, of course.

Well I'm not using repetier but when I want to reconnect with Simplify3D I just unplug the USB wait for the disconnect sound and plug back in, I don't know if this will help.

Da Vinci  AiO with firmware 1.1.1 using xyzscan 1.1.18
E3Dv6 hotend with custom carriage with Borosilicate glass bed
123D Design and Simplify3D, Replaced PS with a Solidgear Flex320
Zerokart resetter,  Installed a Extruder Controller for higher temps

If the printer has been off, I'm quite sure that unplugging and pluging the usb cable doesn't run in my case because I did it. The error message received says something like "denied connection from COM4" (if COM4 is the open port with the printer).

Thanks.

What I do is, after turning off the printer, disconnet repetier, then turn on the printer and reconnect. Sometimes you might have close and open repetier.

I'm quite sure I've tried all the combinations, but I'll try your suggestion. Thanks.
