Topic: repetier decoupled

sorry to being a question freak but last night, i was printing those:

I already print about 8 of those but last night, 2 times in a row, I turn around and Simplify 3D show extruder temp to like ambient and the print still going but of course nothing is coming out of the nozzle. On the LCD, i see DEC being posted ( I have E3d V6 installed) is that a sign of a weak power supply? I was printing ABS at 230Cx100C... if it's the case, what is a good replacement psu?

I have multiple 1.0 and they all got hit by the heater decoupled message within days of each other.  In 3 cases I was able to fix the problem by removing the stock white connector that connect the heater wires to the heater element and solder them together permanently.  In one case I also had to solder one of the resistor on the board near the 12V heater connector.

I kept getting the decoupled issue and read this over on Voltivo by luc and it has helped, but I think I may have a short in one of my cables because I have intermittent issues with the extruder cooling down for no reason. 

"decouple test is new feature of 0.92
you may need to increase EXT0_DECOUPLE_TEST_PERIOD and EXT1_DECOUPLE_TEST_PERIOD in configuration.h to 1800000
and DECOUPLING_TEST_MAX_HOLD_VARIANCE to 300

Decouple test error is usualy due to damaged wire or bad connection to sensor/heater. a way to check is to disable decouple test in FW

and heat extruder(s) and Bed and follow the temperature on temperature monitor on repetier, then moving the extruder all around the bed and observe the temperature graphic, it should show abnormal behavior like some gaps or pikes when connection is lost.

I know I probably have a wire that needs to be replaced in the harness, I am going to switch to an e3d v6 in the very near future and I will just rewire the harness when I do that.  Right now I get like 3-4 good prints with no problems and then I will have a print I need to restart like 3-4 times before it works because the heater keeps cooling down.  I replaced the white connector around 250 hours (I am over 1000 now) so I am pretty certain that isn't the problem.  Like Carl said in another thread, the stock harness is junk I am sure. 

Anyone have any suggestions as to what gauge and type of wire would be a good choice for replacement? I assume I really only need to replace the two white wires going to the heater and possibly replace the heater cartridge at the same time (although the e3d will come with a new one of those anyway).

The heater cartridge wiring that comes with the E3D kit should be long enough to run the all the way back to the board.

I should have mentionned that I have an E3D V6 installed. I tried what Luc proposed and moving the head all over I didn't see anything obvious. It only happen twice but it was 2 consecutive prints... I did about 10 prints since, with no issue. I'm about to try nylon, which will require a higher hot end temp, so I'll see if it come back. Thx for the tips guys.
