Topic: Knowing how much filament is left (without doing a test print) DV1

The question is in the title. I have a standard davinci V1 with standard firmware.

I had hoped that the software would tell me without me having to start a test print. But I can't see it.

Maybe I've missed some menu command or trick...?

It should be on the printer monitor icon in xyz ware. Its an icon that looks like an eye in the lower left hand corner

If you go in to the settings on the printer under "info" then select "cartridge" it will tell you how much it feels is left. What I can tell you is that its 90% BS. Do yourself a HUGE favor and at least get a cartridge counter resetter. Keep your numbers at 240 and just do a check inside the cartridge yourself. I have had several carts read 0 and had plenty inside. I now use a resetter and 3rd party rolls and I absolutely LOVE it. Saves me TONS of money. I buy a 2.2lb roll off eBay for $16.50 ea. I have more rolls than I can play with and more colors. Most will say just flash it but mine is still under warranty so Im not doing that right now.

I must have an old version, because although I said "yes update the software" there is no eye icon in the lower left. There's a printer icon in lower right, but clicking that gives me no cartridge data.

I'm updating again now...

No cartridge data in my version.

Though your other suggestions are useful, I don't think I'll be using this particualr printer much more...

Managed to download an install the new version and I can see the eye. No details about the cartridge when I click there though. Only temperatures and USB connections and a worrying Printer icon with a big red X on it. Though it says the printer is connected and ready for use.

Oh well. Thanks for your help, but XYZWare is just not any good.

On the printer navigate here:

INFO> CARTRIDGE STATS

Then it should show you material, color, and how much is remaining.
