Topic: Da Vinci 1.0A circles come out oval

Ok,
Still trying to get to grips with the Da Vinci 1.0A. I followed the bed calibration post and seem to be getting good prints as long as its not a circle. For some reason circular prints come out slightly oval. I have the latest firmware and the belts appear to be tight. Any Ideas ?

I did hear about the shim kits, However the 1.0A is already shimmed on the access rods ?

This is an example . Its the top of a rook chess piece . Its slightly oval all the way down ?

if your belts are tight check that your y- axis is squared up. Mine from the factory came shifted 2 teeth on the left y axis and that gave me oval prints.  I think it may have shifted during shipment.

Mark, I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing. How do I check if its shifted ?

Pull the X carriage by hand all the way forward. The X carriage moves left to right. Once pulled forward look up at the points where it stops. There are white pulleys on either side. If the carriage is aligned correctly then it should have the same space between the carriage and the pulleys. If it is off on one side the space will be greater. Some times you can just force it back into position. Otherwise you will need to loosen the belt tension which requires removing the sides and physically moving the belt over the pulley on the side that is not close enough.

The left side has the same tensioner set up. Just take the side panel off, locate the tensioner which is spring loaded on the top front side. Loosen the two screws securing it and pull adjust the tension then tighten the screws while holding the tension.

SUPERB guys !!! brilliant advice. I fixed the jumped belt. Re-tightened the bets. Recalibrated the bed and its currently printing a perfect round circle. I couldn't be happier with it now smile

Than you all again
