Topic: Davinici 2.0 no filament during prints

When I Load cartridges, the print heads extrude filament, every time. however, when I go to print anything, no filament comes out, print assbly moves as though it's doing job, but nothing is occuring!! Using aftermarket filament, but correct one, I believe.

I successfully calibrated the bed also.

When you are loading the cartridge are you using the load button until the filament is coming out of the hot end?

Your bed may be too close to the hot end. Do not use the built in calibration it is faulty. Use the tried and tested manual method that is a sticky in this section.

Re: Davinici 2.0 no filament during prints

yes, I loaded the filament correctly, both extruders discharged a generous amount of filament during process. I did the bed leveling as per the sticky note. I have extruder 1 printing fine, but nothing comes out of extruder 2 on a 2 color print job.
Full disclosure, I removed the extruder assblly, then disassembled extruder 1 to dislodge stuck filament, then reassembled.
I put it all back properly, but it does seem extruder 1 head is a bit closer to the bed than head #2, like a few milimeters, nothing huge.
Could that be enough to not make it print from that head? even though filament comes out during the filament load utility?

Re: Davinici 2.0 no filament during prints

Is your print such a print where both colors are needed on the first layer? The second color will not come out until the print reaches the exact layer that the second color starts on. Keep in mind a 3d printer builds by layers and only lays down what is needed for that layer each time.

I have the same printer. The issue is your bed is way too close the the heads. Drop it down and manually calibrate. Thats the only way your going to get this thing to print correctly. Once you get it printing just learn to do it by eye and you will get some pretty decent results.

Re: Davinici 2.0 no filament during prints

On a dual extruder (I have a CTC) one head is considered primary and used by default  the other is considered secondary. The primary will be slightly lower as you want it to lay the initial layer. Never make a print that lays the first layer from the secondary. If you want to print in a different color then change what is in the primary. If you start a print from the secondary which will make a slightly higher first layer due to it being about .005mm higher it the primary will drag the layer from the bed.

Your primary should be set at around .02 from the bed and your secondary should be set at .025 or .03. You will need to loosen them in their mounts which vary depending on the printers to set their height. This is a physical setting and not software or firmware controlled.

Have you cleaned the nozzle with wire brush or nozzle wire you get with printer

I wish I could take my second head off so badly. I never use it and all it does is rub the prints.
