Topic: [SOLVED] Assembly questions, Bearing Compression
Hi,
i've finally find some time to assemble my filstruder but i have a doubt regarding the operation nb 10 in the manual.
" Note: Axial movement of 2-3cm is normal. Slide the auger so that the thrust bearing is compressed during the future assembly steps. Pressurized plastic will handle the compression in operation. Check that roughly ¼” of the feed screw sticks out of the barrel with the thrust bearing compressed. This is more important than the 95mm dimension above, so if you need to tweak the position of the shaft collar, go ahead. "
I need to slide the auger toward the motor or the hotend for compression ?
Does it mean that without the right compression i will get more than 1/4" of the feed screw out of the barrel or less ?
Also, i didn't find the stall protection board in my package, is this normal (i have the new beta motor, kit purchased 02/16/2015) ?
Do i need one ?
Regards
Flo
