Topic: temp setting

I'm running stock firmware on a 1.0A,(1.0.1) using simplify3D. I'm using the Dimension DX resetter, for ABS and PLA all work fine but now I'm trying some other filament that required higher extruder temp... so I reset the cartridge to let's say 250/100... try to print something but the extruder won't go higher than 34c.... found out that if I set the cartridge higher than 230c, it won't heat up.. is this normal behavior and I just need to grow a pair and flash repetier? Thanks in advance.

Re: temp setting

The extruder on a Da Vinci will be damaged if heated over 230. This is also why the firmware limits max temp. If you want to go higher you will need to flash and install an E3D V6 or a B3 Pico. Which will aldo require modifying the carriage.

Re: temp setting

Then just need to flash and set the high limit higher in your firmware.

Re: temp setting

every time I try to flash something (like rooting an Android phone, jailbreaking an iPad...) it always end up in a full week-end project... hopefully, this will go easier!
