Topic: Proposal : Slightly better enforced "on topic rules"

I've noticed that there has been a large number of trouble shooting requests in the Solidoodle Discussion lobby. Would it please the Solidoodle community to begin moving these straight to the repair and maintenance lobby?

This would help us deal with the various repeat posts that are popping up. Eventually, it would be nice to see a few pins for the repair section dealing with common problems.

What are your thoughts?

try posting in site suggestions... I've tried to address this in the past.  Nothing is going to happen until brad addresses the changes and he is nowhere to be found.  We need some established rules/guidelines.  I agree that this is an issue.

I would say make a sub forum just for troubleshooting or support instead of repair and maintenance.  Only for topics that are mainly trying to reach support for help.

I'm a mod as well. I just don't want to make a big change to the policy of the site without Brad's consent.

Re: Proposal : Slightly better enforced "on topic rules"

Perhaps when people sign up they should be linked to the soliwiki and wiki solidoodle site as well. At least more people will be aware of it that way. Also, is it possible to add a tab to the search function for most active results as well as most recent. Most people won't scroll through several pages of search to find their answer and often times a problems been solved a while back with a long thread and no one sees it again.  Also maybe move my site suggestion to repair and maintenance and sticky it since it has all the links of the different sites.

Doesn't seem to be a policy change, just organizing into the established subforums.  I don't see an issue with it.

I'm all in favour of a Print Help & Advice sub forum. Also the firmware sticky should be moved to the Software & Firmware sub forum. Makes no sense for it being in Solidoodle Discussion.
