Topic: A little question about 3D models on a DaVinci1.0A

Hello everyone!

I just got a new DaVinci motivated for a project at work that need some particular gears made to move an electric motor.
I have 10 years of experience with 3ds max and made my models without a problem(i think tongue) but i'm having a few problems at the time of printing.

The orange and green models printed just fine(i printed each gear alone just in case), but the red one just makes the printer crazy and it starts moving material all over the place and i have to stop printing, it clogged the nozzle once and had to relevel the bed after one print got particularly difficult to remove from the bed.

Some info, i'm running firm 1.0.1, latest xyz software for slicing and 3ds max 2014 for exporting stl files.

Just fixed the red gear to look like the blue one and i'm going to try to print it tomorrow but i wanted to ask more experienced people if some shapes like this don't play well with the xyz software.

Thx in advance

I would say there may be some errors in the mesh that you are not aware of. Try running the model through netfabb. It will scan and attempt to correct any issues.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
Anycubic 4MAX best $225 ever invested.
Voxelabs Proxima SLA. 6 inch 2k Mono LCD.
Anycubic Predator, massive Delta machine. 450 x 370 print envelope.

Thx Carl, i'm sure i run the other model through netfabb but thanks for the heads up. I forgot to do that with the updated one tongue

We'll see tomorrow how it goes with the new model.
