MoonFarmer here. This fix eliminates friction in the z axis associated with loose or uneven rods.

Eliminates sticking / noise / smooths travel

Requires 4 pounds of lead weight. Made for use with LYMAN branded 1lb ingots.   http://www.ebay.com/itm/291438814436 

You'll need to re-calibrate the build plate after install.

I never had an issue for the 8 months I had mine.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

If you did the epoxy/ship on the z plate I think it basically does the same thing. the additional mass makes the bed less likely to move back and forth for the wobble.

My rods got messed up over time. The Z axis would stick preventing micro travel on layer change.  Constant use for a year, caught my cat napping on the print bed more then once. I've also been some what rough with this printer. For the longest time I used acetone slurry and frequently had parts that needed excessive force to free. It may or may not have contributed to the wear.

Had way to much trouble trying to get stock parts re-aligned. I was starting to wonder if the rods were bent or the bushings were shot. I can see now how epoxy would help keep the bed from lifting out, didn't think of that. I duct taped random weight to the back so I could print new supports in a last ditch effort. It worked so well I opted to make a proper counter weight and left the stock supports as is.
