Topic: Da Vinci 1.0a heater decoupled
Took extruder out, put it back in and had this heater decoupled error, ive tried fixing it by stripping the wires and crimping them but that didnt work.

Have the exact same issue! Do me a favor. Take a multimeter and put it to the heater harness wires. See if you get 12v.

where would that be
So those wires you snipped. Measure if you get 12V coming to the extruder when you go to do like extruder cleaning procedure.

how would i do that with the multimeter?
Put your multimeter into dc power. And put the leads of the multimeter into the back of the crimped connectors or just remove the connectors and touch the leads to the wires. Put printer in nozzle cleaning mode.

im so lost, when i put the multimeter in voltage random numbers pop up when its not touching anything
Do a quick search online on how to use a multimeter. put it up to a random AA battery and see if you get about 1.2-1.5v if you do you probably have the meter on the right setting.

ok so i put the leads on one wire that goings to the extruder and i didnt see any voltage
You want to do it on both wires. The two white wires that have shielding over them. They are the thickest wires.
Another thing, take the cover off the back of the printer to expose the main board and see how many lights are red. Maybe take a photo of the board and post it.

when i do the clean nozzle and put the leads on the wires it stays on mili volts
Yeah mine does the same... from what people said in the tread i posted it should be showing 12v. Not sure man. But i have a feeling we have the exact same problem. Is your printer still under warranty? I take it its probably not. Let me know if you figure something out.

Its not the wire. If you take the back panel off and test the leads right on the board you still probably won't get any voltage, i dont.

how did it stop working for u?
I think it happens after a failed print, I was cleaning the extruder with a wire brush. Then started a print and all off a sudden printer started to sort of pritend print in the air with the bed all the way at the bottom. There was no filament coming out. So I emergecy stopped the printer and after that it would throw an error.
It sounds like the 1 ohm resistor on you board is open. There are some comments on it in the Heat extrude Failure thread (http://www.soliforum.com/topic/11289/he … e-failure/). You should check for a solution on that thread.

Sometimes they will show no visual evidence. you have to measure their resistance with a meter.

when i meant "see" i meant testing them with a multimeter
