Topic: Goal calibration for Repetier

Hello,
I upgraded to Repetier today, and I was wondering what kind of numbers I'm looking for on the Auto-Calibration Test?
I originally left mine to the default Level but when printing in Repetier I noticed the extruder was literally pushing the bed down. Since then after doing some research I have determined the likely cost was a offset by default... To wrap up, what kind of calibration test numbers am I looking for? My guess was within 25 of zero but I don't want to spend the time calibrating down to that if that's not the goal.

Thanks,
TrentC

Re: Goal calibration for Repetier

The goal should be to use the manual method for Da Vinci printers and that goal is the thickness of a sheet of regular printing paper. The manual method is a sticky here in the Da Vinci section.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Voxelabs Proxima SLA. 6 inch 2k Mono LCD.
Anycubic Predator, massive Delta machine. 450 x 370 print envelope.

I saw that, but after following along I got a failure on the third point...

You like many others did not follow the procedure then. Please point out where it says to run the auto calibration after you run the manual calibration? I am pretty sure it does not. I don't mean to sound huffy here but I thought I made the procedure reasonably clear but yourself as well as five others to date ran the auto process after the manual process. Maybe I need to go back and do some underlining and bolding.

The purpose of the manual method is to correct the inaccuracy of the auto method. The auto method calibrated based on the height of the hold down tabs for the glass. Those tabs are .25 to .30mm thick. That is much too high for a starting layer. Starting layer should be around .15 to .20mm max.

You should use the manual procedure as your go to and never ever run the auto procedure again as it will just mess your manual settings up.

Re: Goal calibration for Repetier

Okay, I got it so it was just barely gripping the paper and will run a test print now.
