Topic: May I show your pints on my site?

Hey there!

I'm just starting to learn about 3d printing and was planning on starting a blog about it.

I was hoping to show some examples of objects made with a 3d printer but dont want to steal images from google.

would anyone allow me to show a picture of their 3d print on my gallery?

I'd would happily link to a your website if you have one.

Also, what printer did you use?

I'm looking at getting my first printer soon.

Re: May I show your pints on my site?

Thanks!

I have the Solidoodle 2.  I would definitely recommend getting one, or the Solidoodle 3.  The price is right, but they definitely take some work to get running right out of the box (downloading software, calibrating etc and I had some trouble shooting too), but worth it!

3DUnderWorld.com is currently under construction but feel free to go check it out.  The developers are currently working on the upload function.  By the time you get your printer it should be fully functional!

I was thinking of the Solidoodle 3 but am a little concerned about the accuracy.

Might just cough up for the makerBot Replicator X2.

Just had a look at your site, looks cool. I'll be sure to check back again when its finished. Mine went live this morning so there are a few bumps to iron out, but if you get chance check it out. 3DPrinterPrices.net

Let me know when your up and maybe we can exchange links and try to grow the 3d printing world!

Thank you so much! These are great.

May I ask what printer did you print them out on?

Looks ace.

I printed them on my Solidoodle 2 at .3mm resolution. I have the Expert model with the heated bed and case.

Re: May I show your pints on my site?

That yoda looks good, what scale did you print it at? Just one suggestion though, the gaps you got over the eyes should be easily solvable by upping the perimiter count by 1 or 2.

Does the bearing work at all?

Thanks to 3D Underworld & Gordym for the great images.

I've added them to my gallery here.

If anyone else wants to add a picture I'd love to see what you have made.

Thanks again guys, when my printer finally shows up I'll add my own creations!

Re: May I show your pints on my site?

The bearing is functional. The more I play with it, the smoother it gets. It pprobably would have worked a lot better if I had removed the support cross hatch setting in Skeinforge. The support was difficult to remove in some spots so the balls were not that smooth. I was really impressed and have printed several bearings like this that are functional.

I scaled up the Yoda to as large as I could get it. I turned it on an angle so the ears were crossing the longest part of the bed. I am not sure the actual scale from the orginal model but I wanted it as large as I could print it on the Solidoodle. I will try to print it again in green and add additional layers. This was just an experiment as evidenced by using Yellow instead of green. it was printed without support using Repetier-Host and Slic3r with the .3 resolution settings from Solidoodle.
