A quick question. Is this the one that doesn't count the filament on 1.1.E? It looks different then I remember.
Yes, that's what I used before I switched to repetier.
Thanks
You're welcome.
I've got to say, although the open mod is an improvement over the stock software, I would HIGHLY recommend the switch to repetier for a much bigger improvement all round.

I was thinking about doing that. I assume you just pushed repetier to the printer through XYZ Ware since you were on 1.1.E. How should I go about doing that?
You can do it that way using an old version of xyzware and doing a firmware update with no internet connection but you'll only be able to flash the older version, repetier 0.91.
I just followed the guide to flash straight to 0.92 which is actually pretty simple as long as you follow it to the letter .... https://github.com/luc-github/Repetier-Firmware-0.92

I assume that I still need to short it even though im on 1.1.E. That step made me so nervous when I did it to downgrade.
Yeah but don't worry, apparently it's pretty much impossible to brick this printer.
All you're doing by shorting the jumper is completing a circuit which erases the eeprom.

Sorry if im asking to many questions but whats the downside to using .91 instead of .92.
I asked the same question before flashing.
This is the answer I got ... http://voltivo.com/forum/davinci-firmwa … r-91-vs-92
Thanks for your help. I think im going to try .91 first since its easier to flash and if I have problems I will go to .92.
I think one of the reasons I went straight to 0.92 was simply because I couldn't find an old copy of xyzware so it was quicker to just go for it with the jumper shorting/Arduino route.
will this modified xyzwate work with 1.0A?

I believe that if your printer has firmware 1.1.E it will work. Not sure if the 1.0a can use that firmware though.
As far as I know, it works with all the Davinci printers but the only firmware version that disables the filament counter when used with the open mod is 1.1.E.
I can just keep resetting the cartidge, my firmware is 1.0.6
what do i do with this .exe file? just replace it with the original?
Does the version of the xyzware matter?
Yes, just put the modded .exe into your xyzware folder and replace the one that's there.
Or you might want to just rename the original one so you can go back to it should you need to.
I just finished my first print with repetier .91. It is so much better then the stock firmware. Thanks for getting me to do this!
Enjoy. ![]()
Please share your slic3r settings. I don't see much improvement after flashing, even after hours and hours of calibrating...
I will quote Carl_m1968 for this
There are no golden settings. The are unique per machine and filament combination. This is the honest truth and hardest part of printing.
Since flashing my printer with repetier I played around with the settings and I am slowly starting to get better prints.
Is this available for the mac in *dmg form?
