Topic: Glass bed chipping

Is any one else having problems with the glass bed chipping, braking and sticking the the prints. There are so many problems with this printer and this one is one that is slowly driving me insane. When I remove a print the is little pieces of glass stuck to it. Any way to fix the glass. The davinci site is selling the replacement assembly for 100$ far to over priced for a simple piece of glass.

Re: Glass bed chipping

Its common, just go to a hardware store and get 1/8 or 3mm piece of glass cut to the stock glass dimensions. Loosen the hold down tabs then insert the new glass over the old glass and snug down the hold downs. You will have to lower your bed levelers to account for the new height but that will solve your glass issues.

Even borosilicate glass can chip.  It happens with all 3D printers that use glass.
