Topic: Slicing time?

I am attempting to print a roughly 3x4x5 inch print, a fairly detailed bust. The slicing will run for 15+ minutes, when on even fairly large prints recently it has taken less than 2 minutes. Is there a way around this, or what should I do?

Re: Slicing time?

Slicing time is slicing is slicing time and will vary depending on size and complexity as well as layer height. Only way around it is to get a faster computer or maybe try a different slicer which is out of the question on a stock Da Vinci.

Re: Slicing time?

The simplest way to reduce slicing time on a very detailed model is to reduce the polygon count. Several 3D software tools produce huge numbers of polygons. Meshmixer does a good job of reducing polygons before slicing. Try different percentages of reduction and use the UnDo key if details disappear.
