Topic: Zone on Y-axis causes massive print failure
Hi all, I need some serious help.
I bought my Da Vinci 1.0A 3d printer from amazon 3 weeks ago and have been trying to fix this problem since:
Whenever I try to print something on the back half of the front half of the printing bed (think if you split the y-axis into four quarters, its the second from the front door) the printer starts making a very audible grinding noise, the extruder vibrates intensely when moving on the x-axis, and the print shifts severely on the x-axis to the point where it starts printing off the bed.
This only happens when I try printing in this region, printing on the front quarter and back half of the bed prints things fine, but this limits my prints to half the size of what they should be capable of being.
There are no immediately visible signs of mechanical or hardware defects.
Things I have tried:
-bed leveling with paper (helped slightly, made sure the extruder wasn't scraping against the bed)
-Tightening the x and y-axis bands as tight as they can go (helped improve print quality and slightly reduced the area where this problem occurs)
-Using different slicing software (no difference)
-Printing with ABS and PLA have the same result
Things I have not tried:
-Calling customer service
-Using a different firmware (I'm new to 3d printing and I'm not sure I'm technologically savvy enough to flash it)
I have been searching the internet persistently and can't find anyone else who has been having this problem or related. If anyone has any suggestions I would be very very appreciative.
Cheers
-Tony
