Topic: Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I got some new black ABS and its being a pain in the butt.  Im getting a lot of warping around the edges, print quality otherwise is ok, not great.  I have tried temperatures from 230-205, moved the speeds around and the extrusion multiplier(this is in simplify3d).  Also im getting little pops(not clicks) and have heard this may be due to excess moisture, any comments on this?

Any help appreciated, im trying to get this black stuff running well enough i can print out the carriage for the hexagon extruder and slowly plug away at getting that built up.

If you look at the pictures you will see what i mean, corners are the worst, even though it adheres to the bed it slowly seems to curve up after the first layer.

If you are hearing popping it is moisture. You can try putting the roll in an airtight container with dissecant for two or three days and it might help. Some have tried baking, but the 180F needed for baking damages the actual spool.

Do you think this is what is causing the issues with the corners etc

90 then it goes down to 70 after 10 layers... I tried this to fix it but no change.  Should I try higher? (Does it go higher?)

For ABS I keep mine at 90 through the entire print. I also use Elmers Purple glue sticks. You can also try adding a brim.

Re: Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I also was having that problem with shaxon filament, the popping and curved corners, colors are blue and black. I finally got the black to come out ok/decent with 240 nozzle temp and the bed at 80 through the entire print.  I would consider ok quality on the black, the blue is still a disaster.  I got some other neutral filament from Ic 3d and filament outlet. I just started using the filament outlet stuff and was getting the same results, but noticed the burn around the 10th or so layers on the blue that i dont think i could see on the black.  I reduced the temp to 230 and the bed to 75 and now it prints better than the xyz filament. My suggestion is try 10+- c different temp on both and watch what happens. I think i was burning the black at 250+ nozzle and way to hot bed to notice. It may be all about the different temps. I have had a rough month on the filament, love the adventure:)

Black will normally print at a lower temp then most other colors. White on the other hand is just the opposite and a pain to use. Natural is a dream to work with. Shaxon basic colors seem to do well but I would stay a mile away from their bright colors. I tried pink and green and both where horrid.

I agree, the natrual is a dream. Carl's( thanx) other posts on threads is why i bought  the natrual type. All this is specific science(luck/or tight belts wink) on the davici and repetier and the associated parts, modified or stock. Filament temp  and bed temp are difficult but now i see dont give up, do multiple test. End of the day some stuff sux though.

I also have some shaxon that I got a few months ago, have used most of the ABS.  The shaxon I got was white ABS (which worked fine), and the other....I was stupid enough to get the bright translucent orange PLA.  It never worked for me, after about 3 minutes of any print, it would swell and clog.  Once, the stuff caught on fire, and I was using 185°c!

But then I bought hatchbox and it seemed like I was in heaven ever since
