			<description><![CDATA[<p>The distance isn&#039;t as important as what the first layers look like on your setup.&nbsp; You want the first layer to smoosh a little so it will stick to the bed, but not so much that it wipes.&nbsp; Ian has a nice post on it on his blog <a href="http://solidoodletips.wordpress.com/2012/08/07/first-layers/"> here </a> and if you look on solidoodle&#039;s vimeo page you&#039;ll see how they level the bed and set the first layer.&nbsp; Don&#039;t remember if it&#039;s in the same video or more than one as vimeo is blocked on the work network.&nbsp; </p><p>The short answer is both are critically important, I would do the z limit first so you don&#039;t crash into your bed, but you may have to do it twice once before you level and once after.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>What should the distance need to be set at between extruder head and bed?&nbsp; I have not leveled my bed yet, only had it a week. So I was wondering should I set the Z limit 1st then level the bed or the other way around.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>i just got a replacement extruder from SD and installed and heating works fine except the new part is about 1 mm longer then the old one. i ran my first job and it smacked into the heating bed. what setting do i need to adjust so my prints start at the right height.</p><p>using slic3r i assume its the printer settings Z offset ? I am still a newb at this. any help would be appreciated.</p>]]></description>
