]]> Wed, 19 Dec 2012 21:53:37 +0000 https://www.soliforum.com/post/7537/#p7537 <![CDATA[Re: new extruder is touching the aluminum bed, where to adjust in Repetier]]> https://www.soliforum.com/post/7524/#p7524 The distance isn't as important as what the first layers look like on your setup.  You want the first layer to smoosh a little so it will stick to the bed, but not so much that it wipes.  Ian has a nice post on it on his blog here and if you look on solidoodle's vimeo page you'll see how they level the bed and set the first layer.  Don't remember if it's in the same video or more than one as vimeo is blocked on the work network. 

The short answer is both are critically important, I would do the z limit first so you don't crash into your bed, but you may have to do it twice once before you level and once after.

You need to adjust your z limit switch screw which is located on the back wall of the inside cabinet.  Turn it clockwise to lower it a bunch then back up to where you need to be without hitting.

using slic3r i assume its the printer settings Z offset ? I am still a newb at this. any help would be appreciated.
