Anyone try this yet? I have been playing with some 1 part UV Resin (plus I have normal 2 part resin) for making jewelry and so forth etc. I am wondering how well just coating a 3D print in a thin layer of resin would work. I'll have to give it a try and report back if I can stand the frustration of getting my old Solidoodle 2 to print right, or if I just dig up an old print. Biggest issue I anticipate is that the resins I use are fairly thin so I will have to work in thin layers and rotate the item the best I can to fight gravity.

A gallon of epoxy resin runs around $60, or about $3 for 6 ounces vs. the $10 these guys are charging. To thin the viscosity, mix it with toluene, which runs around $30 per gallon. If the mixture is half and half, that makes 6 ounces worth about two bucks --- RETAIL. In other words, it sounds like some drunk is mixing the stuff in his basement and selling it at a 1000% markup.
