basically, the nylon broke in what a couple of months of ownership.
it's a standard nylon braided sleeve for cable management.

why replace it (which will be a lot of work) with something that will wear just as fast?
look at steel braided covers.

you'll find these in electronics shops, or in car shops as either performance or engine dressing parts.

Thanks ya I was pretty sure it was 5 V, but not sure about the current. I think those wires I have are only rated for 500 mA and for some reason Solidoodle used a lot thicker gauge than is on the thermistor. Wasn't sure if there was a reason or not.

Thermistor only sees 5V. Not sure how much current but I doubt it would be much.

My wire bundle's protective sleeve finally ripped enough that the thermistor wire on the inside shredded. I have been worried about this for a while and did not figure out a solution in time. The quick fix for now is to attach the iPad wipe (satiny material) until I find a better solution. The solutions here are good without a case but don't help with a case.

I had to do a quick and dirty rewiring for the thermistor to the board with some extra wire I had sitting around to quickly get me through this project I am working on. I am wondering if anyone knows what the sleeve is or where you can get it. Also, for a more permanent solution, I need to replace the thermistor wire. Does this wire see much current or is it ok to replace it with fairly high gauge wire?
